Read new issue of our CISP Newsletter #9 "Kinetics-based simulation approach. Advanced analysis of adiabatic data by applying ADaExpert" which demonstrates how to process and analyze data of adiabatic calorimetry by using ADaExpert software - new TSS member of the TSS family.

CISP constantly expands functionality of our strategic TSS series. The last step in this direction is the release of new version of the ReRank software - ReRank 4.0.0.

It has two major new features:

• possibility to use any kinetics created by TSS kinetics software - in addition to formal (ForK) and descriptive models (DesK) the isoconversional kinetics (IsoKin) is now available;

• determination of new hazards indicators:

            - Thermal aging

            - SATD for liquids in full accord with the UN TDG and GHS requirements.

New article "Thermal decomposition of AIBN: Part D: Verification of simulation method for SADT determination based on AIBN benchmark" by A. Kossoy, V. Belokhvostov and E. Koludarova (DOI:10.1016/j.tca.2015.06.008) will be published in Thermochimica Acta soon. It belongs to the series of 4 articles that contain the results of the participants of the international project aimed at experimental verification of simulation-based methods for SADT determination.

CISP representative attended the annual meeting of the International Group of Experts in Unstable Substances/Energetic and Oxidizing substances hosted by the Explosives Safety and Security Branch – Natural Resourses Canada from 6th to 8th May 2015 in Ottawa.

Dr. Kossoy presented the report "“SADT determination based on the AIBN benchmark – some lessons drawn from the BAM project”

CISP continues to update/upgrade the applications of our strategic TSS series.

1. New versions of TDPro and RCPro software

In addition to the new ADaExpert software new versions of the TDPro and RCPro software are now available for downloading. The modifications were directed mostly towards better compatibility with new versions of MS Word (2007, 2010...), proper appearance of the interface elements when software is used on notebooks with large system fonts installed and so forth.

Another important point is that they are delivered together with the new version of the Text File Converter. It has been been essentially redesigned and became  much more convenient program that provides easier method for data conversion.

2. New versions of kinetics packages IsoKin, ForK and DesK

Modifications of IsoKin, ForK and DesK were focused on the improvement of their interfaces, compatibility of the Word report generation module with MS Word 2007 and later, and some other. 

3. New versions of the hazard assessment software ConvEx and InSafer

In ConvEx, full compatibility with new formal models has been provided for the CE_FK module.
Procedure for MS Word Report creation has been modified to provide compatibility with Word 2007, 2010 and later versions.

New version  ThermEx 2.4.3 is available. 

Main improvement is that the report creation procedure is now fully compatible with MS Word 2007, 2010 and higher.

Pay attention to the fact that temporarily the ThermEx setup contains only the ThermEx Standard module. New powerful version of ThermEx Pro module based on the completely new math methods will be issued in the near future.

1. New ADaExpert software

CISP is happy to announce the issue of the first commercial version of new analog-free ADaExpert program package. In addition to all the types of data processing that were supported by its predecessor - the ADPo software, ADaExpert includes now the new data analysis module that employs the most up-to-date simplified methods:

• Kinetics evaluation, the overall single stage N-order kinetics can be evaluted;
• The unique analog-free method for data correction on thermal inertia, it allows proper prediction of adiabatic time scale and correction of pressure and gas production responses
• The module for prediction of adiabatic Time to Maximum Rate;
• The Vent sizing module for calculation of savety device size. It allows the choice between the J. Leung method and ISO 4126-10 Standard

ADaExpert is delivered together with the new version of the Text File Converter. It has been been essentially redesigned and became  much more convenient program that provides easier method for data conversion. The same Converter will be available soon in combination with TDPro and RCPro programs.

2. New versions of TDPro and RCPro software

New versions of the TDPro and RCPro software will be issued by the middle of February. The modifications were directed mostly towards better compatibility with new versions of MS Word (2007, 2010...), proper appearance of the interface elements when software is used on notebooks with large system fonts installed and so forth.

We are happy to inform that CISP entered into the distribution agreement with Sumika Information Services, Inc. (STIS), Japan. Since the end of March 2014  CISP software is available for Japanese customers via STIS.

New or updated versions of ThermEx, ForK and TDPro programs are now available.

Whereas ThermEx and ForK have some minor improvements new version of TDPro
includes new useful option - that helps in determining location of specific points on the peak.

We are glad to inform our visitors that the TSS series has been replenished by the first commercial version of the IsoKin program (see Isokin page for more detailes). It is a useful addition to two main kinetics evaluation programs ForK and DesK.  Welcome to try this new program. For the TSS users it won't take long to master IsoKin - it has many features in common with ForK.
