Data processing
Calorimetry of various types (adiabatic, DSC, isothermal, etc.) is one of the main experimental techniques applied for determining substance properties and for investigation of chemical reaction kinetics. The reliability of results depends strongly both on the accuracy of calorimetric experiment and correctness of initial processing of original data. Some minor drawbacks in methodology of data processing may lead to obtaining unsafe results.ChemInform offers the powerful and convenient software for thorough processing of adiabatic (ADPro) and thermoanalytical (TDPro) data. Both programs are based on up-to-date methodology. ADPro includes all the necessary procedures for reliable processing of adiabatic data obtained by Accelerating Rate Calorimeter (ARC), Vent Sizing Package (VSP) and Phi-Tech, Reactive System Screening Tool (RSST), DEWAR, etc. Specifically, ADPro allows: - taking into account thermal expansion of a bomb and sample;
- estimating vapor pressure and calculating Antonie constants;
- calculating heat and gas generation;
- taking into account influence of thermal initiation on the reaction proceeding, etc.
TDPro provides treatment of data of: - differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), heat flux and isothermal calorimetry;
- thermogravimetry (TG);
- differential thermal analysis (DTA);
- combined methods - DSC+TG, DTA+TG, etc.
TDPro supports all the necessary procedures for proper preparing data including such original methods as: - correction of calorimetric data on thermal inertia of a cell (data deconvolution);
- reconstruction of real sample temperature;
- statistical treatment of results of parallel runs;
- determining thermal conductivity of liquids, etc.
The auxiliary TFC program gives simple and convenient way for transforming original data files having various ASCII formats into unified data format, acceptable for ADPro and TDPro.
